Kellie Harrington dominates Estelle Mossely who previously beat Katie Taylor to reach European Games final

Kellie Harrington marched into the final of the European Games with a comprehensive 5-0 win over 2016 Olympic gold medalist Estelle Mossely.

The Dubliner dominated from start to finish and was a step ahead of her French opponent throughout as she progressed to her second European Games final.

Mossely, who famously beat Katie Taylor at the 2016 World Championship, looked to start fast and caught Harrington with a nice shot that got the Tokyo Olympic Champions' attention.

Harrington settled quickly however and landed a couple of crisp body shots to stop Mossely in her tracks. A beautiful looping right hand from Harrington clipped Mossely up top as the bell rang for the end of the first round, a round which Harrington edged.

The second round followed a similar pattern. Mossely was the aggressor, but Harrington's expert defence kept her out of trouble and she landed a string of powerful shots to put herself in pole position heading into the third and final stanza.

Knowing she was well ahead on the judges cards, the St Mary's Boxing Club star stayed out of danger down the stretch as her 30-year-old opponent poured on the pressure. Again, Harrington was too sharp, too slick and simply too good on the day.

A brilliant 5-0 win for Harrington over an opponent in Mossely who has been a World Champion both professionally and as an amateur to go with her 2016 Olympic triumph.

She will take on Natalia Shadrina of Serbia in the final on Saturday.
