Jim Goodwin's Aberdeen rebuild continued with the addition of keeper Kelle Roos. The 30-year-old Dutch shot-stopper will join the Dons on a two-year deal from crisis-hit Derby County after agreeing a pre-contract.
He becomes Goodwin 's sixth signing of an already hectic summer as the manager grafts to mould a Dons side in his image after taking over from Stephen Glass last season. And he's acquired an experienced operator in Roos between the sticks, a former PSV Eindhoven academy star and Netherlands youth international.
Goodwin told the Aberdeen website: “Kelle brings with him a wealth of experience and he will help to enhance the goalkeeping team we have at the club. It’s vital we add quality to the squad this season so we’ve taken the time to identify the correct players with the attributes we feel will have a positive impact. Having played a significant number of games in the English Championship, Kelle ticks all those boxes for us.
“He is a very confident character and I’m sure he will be a popular addition to the dressing room.”
Roos joins Liam Scales, Ylber Ramadani, Bojan Miovski, Jayden Richardson and Anthony Stewart in pitching up at Pittodrie so far this summer. Aberdeen kicked off their pre-season preparations on Saturday with a friendly victory over Highland League side Buckie Thistle.
