Kell Brook's strict training routine including phone ban ahead of Amir Khan clash

Kell Brook is showing his dedication in training camp by locking away his phone ahead of his fast-approaching grudge match with Amir Khan.

The British star is currently preparing for his showdown with bitter rival Khan in warm-weather island Fuerteventura.

He will be looking to end the pair's long-term rivalry with a victory after waiting over four years for the clash.

Brook's promoter Ben Shalom has spoken of his "dedication" in training which he hasn't shown in previous clashes with Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence.

"He is being watched carefully and is training amazingly," Shalom told Sky Sports.

"I spoke to his dad - they have never seen him so up for a fight. And obviously he has fought Gennadiy Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr and Shawn Porter.

"But he has never been as dedicated as this. Kell is in a new world that nobody has witnessed him in.

"He is doing everything asked of him, he is training relentlessly, he isn't on his phone! This is the fight of his life."

Brook is training for the first fight since his defeat to Terence Crawford back in 2020.

The Sheffield star faced off with his opponent after their meeting was confirmed to take place in February in front of a sell-out crowd in Manchester.

Meanwhile his opponent Khan is preparing in much colder conditions with new trainer Brian 'BoMac' Mcintyre.

Shalom has also spoken about how Khan has seperated from his wife to allow full focus on preparations to face Brook.

"Amir, similarly, is having a great camp in the US - on his own in the most difficult camp of his life where, apparently, they are absolutely killing him," Shalom continued.

"His wife is in Dubai. There is so much sacrifice going on. It becomes more exciting when you realise how seriously they are taking it.

"This will be an elite-level fight. Kell fought for a world title only last year and there were a lot of mistakes in the training camp.

"He didn't even take Dominic Ingle over for that fight. This fight is in the top 10 sporting events of 2022."

Khan despite also training and gaining advice from the pair's former opponent Crawford, has admitted he is currently struggling with injuries.

Brook immediately fired back to the claims by warning his rival he would turn up to the event with "broken hands".

The 35-year-old has vowed to continue fighting if he is "feeling good" after his fight with Khan and is eyeing a shock clash with American star Floyd Mayweather.

Khan has been out of action for over two and a half years since his mega-money victory over Billy Dib in the Middle East.

Both men will need to make the catchweight limit of 149lbs for the fight to take place despite having both previously fought at 147.

If either star is unable to make weight, a six-figure penalty has been put in place to prevent the fight from collapsing once again.
