Former IBF welterweight world champion Kell Brook could be in hot water after being filmed snorting a line of white powder at a party in his house.
The video appears to show the retired star bent over a coffee table in his kitchen, and using a roll-up to consume the powder. More white powder is visible on the table and the 36-year-old muttered "nice" after the act.
Brook, who retired from the sport after his explosive win over Amir Khan last February, was dressed in a T-shirt bearing the image of the iconic Joe Louis. An excitable Brook also appeared to shadow box in front of a framed portrait of him having won his world title belt back in 2014, when he beat Shawn Porter.
“He had a bit of a gathering at his house where people were drinking spirits and smoking," a witness told The Sun. “He was snorting white powder.”
His manager, however, has insisted there was no wrongdoing. Terry Thompson said: "This is a thing that has sort of got out of hand. They were at his house, they were having a laugh. They were joking about things. He said to them, ‘Film me having a laugh’.” He also denied that the white powder was cocaine.
Brook is married to wife Lindsey, 35, who was regularly seen ringside during his illustrious career. The couple have three children, but all four were said to be away while the party went on.
Brook's win over Khan came after years of volatility between the pair, and the Sheffield-born fighter retired almost immediately afterwards.
He has been forced to endure a number of incidents outside the ring, having been the victim of two stabbing incidents, attacked outside a nightclub in Sheffield back in 2007. The same year, while on holiday with his then pregnant wife, he was slashed with a machete in Tenerife in what he said was an unprovoked attack.
Despite having officially hung up the gloves, Brook has been the subject of much speculation over a dramatic return. Last September, it was reported he was eyeing a domestic fight with either Chris Eubank Jnr or Liam Smith.
