Over the past couple of summers Bernardo Silva has been linked with moves away from Manchester City, and this transfer window looks set to be no different.
After a remarkable season in which Bernardo played a crucial role in City winning the Premier League title for the fourth time in five years, the Portuguese midfielder is reportedly attracting the attention of admirers. According to the latest reports, that admirer is Barcelona, specifically coach Xavi. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona chiefs met with Bernardo's agent Jorge Mendes this week, with the 27-year-old the main topic of conversation.
It's understood that Xavi would love to have Bernardo as part of his Barca rebuild, but unless the club sells Frenkie de Jong — wanted by Manchester United — then there is no way that the Catalan club could afford him.

That's because City are do not want to sell Bernardo, unless of course he asks to leave. In that instance, it's believed that City's asking price would be at least €100m, if not more.
While Bernardo has not always felt settled in Manchester — he asked to leave the club in 2020 and 2021 — he appears to have knuckled down in the past season and is believed to be happy at the club. City fans will certainly hope that is the case, as they reacted to the reports on social media:
@thecityzensfc: Selling Bernardo would be two steps forward with Haaland and then taking four back with Bernardo. City should offer him all he wants to stay.. he is priceless, or just play hardball we are too soft. Set ridiculous amounts like 135 take it or leave it. We are in total control.
@nourmcfc: keep him at all costs.
@LeeBrom: Barca haven't got a pot to pee in to. The end.
@SheltonWicks: Unless Bernardo asks his way out, which i doubt is happening with the season he just had, he doesn't have a price tag. No way he is sold.
@Halazka1: If Bernardo want to leave we can accept Frenkie de Jong swap deal he is great and fit for pep system.
