Keanu Reeves shares touching tribute to Lance Reddick following The Wire star's death

Keanu Reeves has paid an emotional tribute to his late co-star Lance Reddick following his death at the age of 60.

The actor, who worked with Lance on the John Wick movie series, has told of his “heart-break” over the news of Lance’s death.

The Wire actor and musician was found dead on Friday morning in his Los Angeles home just days after opting against attending the premiere of his latest film, Wick 4.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ the cause of death is currently unclear, but it appears to be natural.

Famous faces in the movie industry have been paying tribute to the late star and Keanu Reeves is the latest in a long line of stars to express their shock and heartache over the news.

Keanu released a joint statement with Wick series director Chad Stahelski as they mourn the loss of their co-worker and friend.

"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick," they said.

"He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends."

The joint statement revealed that they would be dedicating the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4 to the star.

Reddick was set to return as the Continental's concierge Charon as the movie released next week.

"We dedicate the film to his loving memory," they said. "We will miss him dearly."

Fellow John Wick star Ian McShane added: "Total shock and disbelief. Lance was a wonderful human being and a wonderful colleague.

"My deepest condolences, peace and love to his wife, Stephanie, and all his family."

Following the announcement of his death, a number of his The Wire co-stars took to their social media accounts to pay their respects.

Among them was Wendell Pierce, who starred as Bunk Moreland in the crime series, who wrote: "A man of great strength and grace.

"As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class. An sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP."

Fellow star of the show, Isiah Whitlock Jr, said: "Shocked and saddened by the news that Lance Reddick has passed away. Truly heart-breaking. R.I.P. My friend. You will be missed. Godspeed."

Hollywood star Ben Stiller was also on hand to pay his respects, writing: "Lance Reddick was a beautiful and compelling actor. And a beautiful person. He worked with my mom Anne Meara in her play ‘Afterplay’, playing Raziel, the waiter slash angel of death. He was exquisite in that and all he did."
