Keane and Lighthouse Family Mouth of the Tyne Festival 2020 concerts cancelled

Keane and Lighthouse Family Mouth of the Tyne concerts have been moved to 2021 as North Tyneside Council has rescheduled the summer festival due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The council says it took a 'difficult decision' move the Mouth of the Tyne series of concerts at Tynemouth Priory from July 2020 to July 2021, following Government advice on protecting residents, visitors, artists, suppliers and staff.

Keane are now due to perform at the Priory on Thursday July 8, 2021. Lighthouse Family's show is now planned for Saturday July 10, 2021.

North Tyneside’s Elected Mayor Norma Redfearn CBE, said: “We are very sad to have to cancel one of the region’s biggest events, especially after all the work that had gone into organising it and all the excitement from ticketholders, but we can’t take any chances with public safety in light of the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

“I’m pleased that all of the artists have agreed to come back next year and perform – it shows what a popular event the festival has become not just for visitors but for artists too.”

Mouth of the Tyne Festival performances at Playhouse Whitley Bay will be rescheduled too. Newton Faulkner's show is now planned for November 16.

North Tyneside Council says it will update ticketholders about the sold-out Robert Plant and Suzi Dian Saving Grace concert and John Cooper Clarke's gig when new dates are agreed.

Tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new dates but anyone that wants a refund can get one from their point of purchase. The festival’s ticketing partners will be in touch with ticketholders directly.
