KC(B) leader hacked to death

KOLLAM

A Kerala Congress (B) worker, who was reportedly hacked following a clash at a temple festival, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj, a 39-year-old resident of Kokkad. Manoj was found with serious injuries on the roadside on Friday night and though he was rushed to a hospital, his life could not be saved.

According to the police, he suffered deep cuts and his fingers were severed.

Manoj was the president of the Youth Front (B) Chakkuvarakkal mandalm and Kerala Congress (B) workers alleged political conspiracy in the murder. They said that Manoj had revealed the names of people who attacked him to his brother and the accused are currently absconding.

Kerala Congress (B) leader and Pathanapuram MLA K.B. Ganesh Kumar said the murder could be politically motivated and Congress workers had been unleashing violence in the area of late.
