Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan returned to KBC on Sunday with a special episode of 'Aazadi Ke Garv Ka Mahaparv' celebrating 75 years of India's Independence. He started KBC 14 with a patriotic poem. Big B said he has returned to the show after 232 days.
Big B welcomed Aamir Khan who came along with two people from the armed forces. Major DP Singh, a Kargil war veteran and Colonel Mitali Madhumita joined them. Aamir shared the story behind Big B getting him onboard on Twitter. The Bollywood actor said he only used the platform to promote his films or the ones made by his friends. Big B said he should do KBC's 'prachar' as well. Aamir tells him KBC doesn't need any 'prachar'.
Colonel Mitali Madhumita narrated how a facility at the Indian Embassy in Kabul was attacked. She didn't know the attack was on their people. She shared how she took the help of Afghanis and rescued many. For this she was awarded the Sena Medal. Amitabh Bachchan stood up and saluted her for her courage.
Big B asked her mother how she feels to have such a brave daughter. Her response wins the audience. Big B continued the game. After winning Rs 40,000, Major DP Singh took the place of Col Mitali on the hot seat. A video question made Big B pull Aamir's legs. Big B called him 'perfectionist' for a reason.
Interestingly, Big B knew the park in question as used to visit it frequently during his childhood. It was the Chandra Shekhar Azad Park which was earlier called Alfred Park. Big B recalled his memories of Allahabad and recalled how Chandra Shekhar Azad chose to sacrifice his life than give himself to the Britishers in the park during cross firing.
Major DP Singh revealed he still has several shrapnels in his body and they are all in the front as he was running towards the enemy rather than running away from them. He was applauded by everyone, and they all shouted slogans of 'Vande Mataram'.
For a question related to Dev Anand, Aamir Khan and Major DP Singh used their first lifeline. After they won Rs 50 lakh, they had exhausted all their lifelines and chose to exit the game.
Next, MC Mary Kom and Sunil Chhetri were welcomed by Amitabh Bachchan. The two mention the charities they'd be donating their prize money to. The two of them didn't know the first question and decided to use a lifeline - audience vote. Thereafter, they moved swiftly up the ladder.
Sunil Chhetri showed everyone football tricks and even made Big B complete his dialogue from the movie, Mr Natwarlal. The guests and the host continued the game. Mary Kom and Sunil Chhetri used two lifelines to answer the question that made them win Rs 12.5 lakh.
However, time was soon up after they won Rs 25 lakh.
