Loose Women 's Kaye Adams has revealed that she is now wearing hearing aids, and she can't believe the difference they have made.
The 59-year-old took to Instagram to show off her "fancy new ear buds" and say she's now able to hear things like never before.
Earlier this year the Scots presenter revealed on Loose Women that after a hearing test she would need to use two hearing aids going forward. However as life was so busy for the presenter, it's only now that she is getting round to it.
Sharing her experience on Instagram, Kaye showed off her new additions.. She said: "Well, I've just got myself set up with some fancy new ear buds - sort of ear buds", she pans the camera to her ears and says: "Hearing aids!"
She then adds: "It's unbelievable, I can actually hear my feet walking along the floor. I can hear my hair brushing against my ear, it is wild. So I am loving my hearing aids, I've kind of got used to it already, which is incredible."
Kaye then joked that the small devices are so hi tech, she is still getting used to them. She said: "The only thing is that I'm clearly doing something wrong because every so often Siri is activated. and so theres a voice inside my head that tells me how I can get to west London in less than 15 minutes which is a bit disconcerting but I'm sure I'll work it out."
Prior to her recent short stint on Strictly Come Dancing, Kaye went for a hearing test at Boots where she was told she would need two hearing aids. The testing concluded that she was suffering with mild sensory hearing loss in both ears, with additional conductive hearing loss in her right ear.
Speaking on Loose Women at the time, she said: “I actually had a fitting at my appointment where I was able to hear the difference and it was really interesting. On TV I wear an earpiece anyway and, if anything, I felt like they were more discreet.
"I think there’s so much negativity around hearing aids that doesn’t really exist around other things like specs, for example, which are considered cool. I think hearing loss can be associated quite a lot with old age, even though there are loads of reasons you could have it at any age.
“And, actually, when you start to understand it a bit more and how your own experience can be improved, you don’t have that knee-jerk reaction against them.”
It’s estimated around 11 million people in the UK have hearing loss, and while as many as 6.7 million could benefit from hearing aids, only around 2 million people use them.
