Kaye Adams 'gutted at herself' as she reflects on Strictly boot in emotional Instagram video

Kaye Adams says she's "gutted at herself" after being the first contestant to be booted off Strictly Come Dancing 2022 - and she has vowed to come out of the defeat stronger.

The Loose Women host and pro-dance partner Kai Widdrington failed to impress the judging panel during Sunday night's result show, after being in the dance-off with Matt Goss.

Kaye, 59, has now posted a video to her 147k followers on Instagram, where she reflects on what happened and appears to be rather emotional.

In it she said that she has "no regrets" about taking part in the BBC hit show adding: "So... I have finally surfaced after the craziest weekend imaginable - obviously I'm gutted at myself. I panicked in that dance off. I just panicked.

"And I've seen a few comments saying I looked like a rabbit in the headlights and they're right, I was.

"Kai tried so hard to say 'come on we can do this'. And I just wasn't able to bring it... so I do regret that. But I do not regret signing up for Strictly despite my early exit.

"I have learned to so many things and met so many wonderful people that I will definitely come out of this stronger."

However, Kaye did joke about leaving the competition so early with a couple of souvenirs.

She went on to add: "I have got a whole pack of 32 double D bras and a new Strictly dressing gown and I love a dressing gown.

"I've got Take Two tonight with Rylan, and I'm doing Loose Women tomorrow and then I need to get back to the real world."

Earlier we told you about Kaye's awkward encounter with hotel staff after she ordered food to her room, she tweeted: "Just ordered room service in my hotel. The nice lady who brought it asked me ‘any idea who went out of @bbcstrictly tonight.?’ I said ‘me’ awkward silence."

Channel 5 newsreader Dan Walker was one of the first to react, saying: "Major League awkwardness. We enjoyed watching you Kaye. I hope you made some good friends and have some lovely memories."
