Kaye Adams debates getting spray tan ahead of BBC Strictly Come Dancing debut

Kaye Adams has been weighing up whether or not to get a spray tan ahead of her Strictly Come Dancing debut.

The Loose Women panellist was asked by Strictly bosses if she wants a tan ahead of her stint on the BBC ballroom show. Taking to Instagram, she asked her 139,000 followers: "I just got an email in from Strictly saying 'Do I want a spray tan?'"

She continued: "Do I want stand spread eagled in my scanties while a woman with goggles and a spray gun turns me a nice shade of nut brown. What do you think?" She asked the question on Instagram with a poll, where 92% of voters thought she should give the tan a go.

This comes after Kaye, 59, revealed she is going deaf in one year and has been recommended to wear a hearing aid. The Scottish broadcaster said the checks found one of her ears has a poor level of hearing, while the other is trying to compensate.

"My hearing is an issue, to the extent that I’ve had full consultations and examinations on my ears. It’s probably getting to the stage where it’s getting problematic in certain situations," she told The Sun.

She added: "I have been recommended to get hearing aids. One ear in particular has a very poor level of hearing and the other one is trying it’s best to compensate."

Kaye has said she has been "struggling" with her hearing for around five years as she opened up about the "scary" times during an episode of Loose Women last month. Speaking on the ITV show, she said: "For around five-ish years, maybe more, I have been aware that I've been struggling but you just make excuses."

Kaye said she had joked about her hearing lost in the past, but eventually realised it was starting to become more serious. She said: "Although you laugh that off, it is now beginning to get to me because, I think, I'm really missing things and I don't want to be a standing joke."

The TV personality was announced as the fourth contestant on the ballroom dancing show, and has admitted she can't dance but has been practising ahead of her stint. Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, Kaye revealed the reason she wanted to go on the show: "You might have seen that I have signed up for it, which was a huge decision.

"I went through so many thoughts in my head, 'You know, why would I do this? I'm too old, I can't dance, I really can't dance'. In fact, I was spoke to Shereen on BBC Radio Scotland on Saturday and she reminded me that when we used to go to aerobics classes together in my 20s, when everyone was grape vining to the right I was grape vining to the left so that's not really a particularly good sign.

"So the sensible part of me said this isn't for you, but there was just a bit of me that was like 'Why the heck not?' Do something new. Push yourself out of your comfort zone. How many chances are you gonna get like this in your life?'

"I was on holiday and I must have had like two Aperol spritz when it finally came down to the decision, yes or no are you doing to do it. And I thought, you know what, I'm gonna do it. So there you go, the dye is cast."
