Katy Perry had a sweet message and dedication for King Charles as she wowed at tonight's Coronation concert.
The Part Of Me singer performed some of her biggest tracks during the special Coronation concert this evening, broadcasted live on ITV from Windsor Castle to mark the Coronation of King Charles. The event took place at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday, with the concert going ahead this evening despite a couple of last minute absences.
During tonight's set, she performed her hit track Roar in a stunning gold dress, before segueing into fan favourite Firework, which she dedicated to King Charles and his and her charity work.
Speaking before she sang her song Firework, she said: "I'm so happy to be here with you people. I love you all so much. I got to bring my mum, she's so happy to be here. I get to stay in this castle! Thank you for having me at the Coronation celebration and I want to dedicate this song to the King and the work we get to do with the British Asian Trust."
Katy previously expressed her excitement at being chosen to perform at the Coronation concert.
"I’m grateful to have been asked. It’s very exciting. It [the invite] was very regal – I loved it. I’m an ambassador to one of his foundations… he asked me to sing and it all aligned," she said.
"I might be posting a lot because I’m going to be in a castle for real. This is wild."
Katy and her huge team have been given five dressing rooms behind the scenes at the concert this evening.
The singer was keen to be joined by those she trusted most for the big event, and that includes her management reps, hair and makeup artists and stylists, costume designers, her sound engineering team, her lighting specialists and her dance team.
A source revealed to The Mirror: "Katy has easily the biggest entourage of any on the bill. But she has a trusted team who she always works with and relies upon. They know exactly how she likes things done… and will make sure they’re done to the letter. When it comes to her backstage rider, she isn’t over the top, but there are a few things she always asks for. They make her feel relaxed."
