Katy Perry's awkward comments about Prince Harry resurface ahead of coronation performance

Katy Perry's pervious comments about Prince Harry have resurfaced weeks before the pair reunite at King Charles' coronation.

The US songstress is one of the big names confirmed to perform at the musical extravaganza on Sunday May 7, with Prince Harry revealing days prior he will also be attending the celebrations.

It's not the first time the duo have come face to face.

Katy was appearing on The Graham Norton Show back in 2012 when she was asked about the late Queen's jubilee before conversation quickly turned to Harry.

Host Graham was talking to the pop star about the performances that took place at the event when he asked about the rumour that Prince Harry had asked for her to join the guest list 'by name.'

Katy simply replied: "Prince Harry? He's a hot ginger isn't he."

Comedian Ross Noble quipped that Harry was known for his love of the ladies.

"I'd be open to that," joked Katy.

Graham continued to rib his guests by then turning to UK singer Cheryl and asking her about rumours she had been seen chatting to Harry at the Jubilee Concert after party.
"Get off my man!" Katy fumed.
Graham then quipped that 'Princess Cheryl' had a ring to it before teasing the wedding would be 'the best ever.'
"I would consider Prince Harry," Cheryl mused before Katy piped up "And if you don't want her pick me!"
Harry was previously linked to singer Ellie Goulding and the late TV presenter Caroline Flack before finding love with Meghan Markle.

While Graham's BBC audience might have seen the light in Katy's statement, the resurfaced interview may be slightly awkward now that the Firework singer is set to perform at Prince Harry's father's coronation.

Katy is set to perform at the highly-anticipated ceremony concert on May 7 in front of a crowd of 20,000 members of the public and invited guests at Windsor Castle.

Other well known names among the stars perform are Take That and Lionel Richie.

However, Katy's performance may be slightly awkward for another reason as well.

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was previously said to have held a "grudge" against Kate after she once made a critical comment about the former actress' wedding dress.

Comments made about Meghan's wedding dress from Katy still upset Meghan, according to reports.

While she was on a promotional tour in the US for American Idol, Katy said she "would’ve done one more fitting" while talking about the wedding dress Meghan was wearing.

A source told The Daily Star: "Meghan is keenly aware of a comment that Katy Perry made in 2018 about her wedding dress and is notorious for holding a grudge.

"While the comment wasn't meant to be hurtful, Meghan felt under siege at that time and was overwhelmed by arguments with staff, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Thomas Markle."

Katy is now married to Orlando Bloom (YOUTUBE)

The source added: "I would not expect to see Meghan and Katy carpooling to PTA meetings anytime in the future!"

However, this hasn't stopped Orlando Bloom, who is married to Katy, being friends with Prince Harry himself.

They apparently struck up a friendship after Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito, California.
