Katy Perry has finally discussed what happened to make her "eye glitch" during her gig in Las Vegas.
The incident went viral after her eye seemingly twitched and got stuck blinking while she was in the middle of performing. It had many fans poke fun at the star's "mechanical failure" while others quickly raised concern and wanted to check if the Hot N Cold singer, 38, was okay.
And now, Katy has confessed that the moment was indeed planned. Sharing a clip to social media captioned: "When you see new 2023 PLAY dates," Katy revealed she had went ahead with the scene to promote her show.
She commented: "Welcoming all my #flatearthers #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year!
"The show’s setlist is a fun ride through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers!"
She continued: "This show is a nonstop party about finding unconditional love and strangely (for me) not political at all, heck I pour beer out of my t*ts (that’s a party trick too…I don’t actually lactate hops silly goose!)
"Hope to sing along with you in 2023! And we’ll drink, this one’s on me, cause we’re all #chainedtothealgorithm #therealproblemlolhaha."
A number of fans rushed to the post to praise the cleverness, with one Instagram user writing: "This is genius. maybe people will stop texting me asking me what’s wrong with your eye now."
Another added: "HOW DO I DO THIS!?!? I want to learn so bad!!!," while a third said: "New album. ready for it."
The hitmaker's "glitch" came as she struck a pose post-song.
A member of the audience captured the incident in which the mum-of-one took a few seconds to get her eye to open properly again before carrying on with the performance.
While some fans joked it was a "clone failure", one user tried to be a bit more rational with their response insisting it could have been Katy's false eyelashes getting stuck to the bottom of her eye.
However, all has now been revealed and fans can look forward to another round of concerts coming their way in the near future.
