Katie Taylor open to move up in weight to face winner of Chantelle Cameron vs Jessica McCaskill

Katie Taylor is open to moving back up in weight to try and become a two-weight undisputed world champion against the winner of Chantelle Cameron vs Jessica McCaskill.

Northampton's Cameron faces McCaskill for the undisputed super-lightweight championship as the main support act to the WBA world super-light heavyweight title contest between Dmitrii Bivol and Gilberto Ramirez in Abu Dhabi next Saturday.

Taylor fought just once at 140lbs, when beating Christina Linardatou for the WBO belt three years ago, but would be temped to go back up in weight for the opportunity to win another undisputed crown.

"That would be a very possible ploy", said Taylor on the prospect of fighting the winner. "I have no problem in stepping up and facing either of those girls. I obviously fought Jessica and beat her before [in 2017] and I fought Chantelle as an amateur boxer as well. So I have no problem going up and facing either one of them. That would be a fantastic fight."

Both Cameron and McCaskill have called for bouts with Taylor in recent years and because the two of them are signed by Matchroom, a fight between either of them and the Irish fighter would be relatively easy to make.
