Katie Price updates on terminally ill mum's health and sweet sign she knows she's OK

Katie Price has opened up about her mum Amy's ongoing health battle.

Grandmother Amy, 71, was diagnosed with the terminal lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017.

Katie was understandably devastated and at the time and broke down during a very emotionally-wrought episode of Loose Women where she first shared the news with fans.

The glamour model explained: "IPA [idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis] isn't well known and there should be more awareness because once you're diagnosed, it's too late. It's an incurable lung disease - no one knows how you get it...

"It might be my last Christmas with her," Katie sobbed, before being comforted by the panel.

Four years later Katie says she and her beloved mum are still looking out for one another.

In an interview with the Mirror this weekend, Katie said revealed her mum's approach to her illness.

"She takes every day as it comes," revealed Katie.

"She still nags nags me every day. The more she nags, the more I know she’s alright!” she joked.

Katie spoke out as she revealed her new look Mucky Mansion, which now boasts a special space dedicated to grandmother Amy.

Amy asked Katie if she could help design her 'garden room' to give the family something to remember her by.

At first, Katie says she wasn't keen on the idea but it's now become one of the most most sentimental spots in the house.

“I have to admit, when I have visitors, they always say they love that room. I do like it because as soon as I walk in, I instantly think of my mum," Katie explained.

Amy deigned the room with the help of Katie's younger sister Sophie.

"I’d let them design more. I might get them to do a gym for me," added Katie.

"I really want to start working out. Because I don’t drive [due to a driving ban], I’m trying to make it a home that I don’t have to leave. I want to turn one of the rooms into a gym and properly kit it out. We can do that for the third series.”

Katie is showing off the fruits of her labour with Channel 4 show Katie Price's Mucky Mansion which has been commissioned or a second series.

The model's whole family are seen chipping in to help makeover the once rundown Sussex family home.

Despite her health woes, Amy has remained positive about her diagnosis with Katie admitting it's been hard to see her mum suffering.

Opening up about her mum's health struggles, she told the Lorraine Show: "It's a horrible illness because you're suffocating... it's not nice to see your mum like that," she admitted.

"My mum keeps saying to me, 'Just when I'm about to rest, you do something else, you keep me on my toes."
