This sorrowful episode follows several other devastating incidents. Six months before Blade’s death, her Pomeranian, Sharon, was fatally injured in a crash on the same road. Previous years saw similar fates for her Alsatian Queenie, reportedly hit by a pizza delivery driver, and her Alsatian, Sparkle, who died on the A24 in 2020. The heartbreaking loss of her French bulldog, Rolo, in a freak accident involving an electric armchair further intensified scrutiny over her pet management.
Rolo’s death was explained on YouTube after Katie fought desperately to resuscitate him. “Basically I was in the other room because we’re going on holiday, packing their suitcases,” said Katie, “There was five people in the other room, so people saying the puppy was left, it wasn’t left at all. And it just got stuck under one of the chairs.”
