Katie Price has opened up about the very different approaches she and Peter Andre have when it comes to their children.
Former glamour model Katie, 45, and her singer ex-husband Peter, 50, share children Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, together.
The pair have been co-parenting since their split in 2009 – but they both have very different attitudes when it comes to raising their children.
Katie and Peter have separately been open about the rules in their households over the years – with the pair having different views over the years.
And in her new podcast, The Katie Price Show, mum-of-five has given further insight into how their approaches to parenting differ.
Speaking alongside her sister Sophie about the challenges of being at school, Katie reveals her daughter is currently preparing for her GSCE exams.
Katie says: “There’s always this pressure, I think, when you’re at school – you’ve got to do well with your exams… this that and the other – there’s all this pressure.
“I know what it’s like because Princess is doing her GCSE’s and I just say to her, ‘chill out, what will be will be. Just don’t stress yourself out'.”
Sophie then asks: “Has she been doing any practicing?”
Katie then explains how she and ex Pete differ when it comes to coaching Princess through the tricky time.
“Yeah her dad’s strict with her,” Katie says. “Whereas I’m like look: ‘You’re not gonna be a scientist let’s be honest'.”
Sophie says: “Oh Kate you can’t say that to her!”
“Well she’s not,” Katie replied as Sophie added: “You’ve got to give her, like you know, gee her up.”
However, Katie insists that she tells her daughter to 'do her best'.
Katie explains: “She knows what she’s like. She knows she’s not like… She says, ‘Mum I’m not gonna pass all my exams'. I said, ‘Look all you can do is try your best. Revise just so you know you’ve done your best that’s all you can do. But don’t stress about thinking you’ve got to get As and all that'. It is what it is at the end of the day.”
It comes as Katie and Peter both paid tribute to their daughter earlier today as she turns 16.
Mum Katie posted two photos of her daughter on her Instagram story. The first showed a throwback photo Katie and Princess together on This Morning in 2017.
“16 today,“ Katie penned atop the photo. “happy birthday to my absolute world @officialprincessandre. My mini me my everything“, followed by a sparkling pink heart emoji.
The second post is a photo of Princess posing on the red carpet of the Pride of Britain Awards taken last year.
Katie added on top of the picture: “@officialprincessandre love you so much. Can't believe your 16 today.“
Meanwhile, Peter shared a video montage comprised of a collection of snaps of Princess throughout her life from being a baby to a teen and added Prince's song The Most Beautiful Girl In The World to the clip.
“Happy 16th birthday to my sweet, kind, caring and, let’s be honest, often moody daughter,“ dad Pete began in the caption.
“Hope today is everything you wish for. Pancakes are ready when you come downstairs as requested. But you still have to clean your plate. A princess to everyone else but always Bista to me.
“So proud of you. Stay kind, humble and funny. Love you so so much.“
