Katie Price's sister slams claims the star is jealous of her engagement

Katie Price's younger sister, Sophie, has slammed claims that the star is envious of her wedding plans after she became engaged and planned to have her wedding this year.

On Tuesday, reports emerged suggesting that Katie was green with envy over 32-year-old sister Sophie's plans to tie-the-knot with Harry Brooks – who is the father of her child, 10-month-old Albert.

It was implied that 43-year-old Katie was jealous that Sophie was due to walk down the aisle and take the spotlight off the former glamour model whose own wedding plans collapsed last month when 33-year-old fiancé Carl Woods dumped her amid allegations she had cheated.

It was suggested that Katie thinks it 'isn't an option' her younger sister to be married before her and that she is pressing on with plans to marry Carl even though he has left her as she believes he will come back to her in time for their original wedding plans to go ahead.

A source told Closer magazine: “Jordan and Carl have always had a passionate relationship – one minute madly in love, the next arguing. Carl is very green-eyed, and when he dumped her, she barely showed any emotion – confidently insisting he’d come running back in a few days once he’d calmed down.

“She dismissed it as a bad row and is adamant they’ll still be getting married – even continuing to make plans despite everything.”

The source also implied that Katie is jealous of her younger sister, Sophie who is set to marry Harry later this year.

The Closer source said: “Sophie’s engagement has only fuelled Katie’s desire to have her dream wedding. Of course she’s thrilled for her little sister, but the thought of her own wedding being cancelled, and Sophie taking the limelight, isn’t an option in her eyes.

“She’s even joked to pals that if Carl doesn’t come back, she’ll have to find another man to marry her in less than two months!

"Family and friends have urged her to let it go and have a break from men given she’s clearly in such a troubled place, but the thought of being alone is her worst nightmare.”

But Sophie has categorically slammed Closer's claims – and says it is not true that Katie is jealous of her.

She told the Mirror: "In regards to Kate being jealous and green eyed with my recent engagement is absolutely ridiculous - Kate is extremely happy for Harry and I, and we're all looking forward to celebrating and planning as a family."

She added: "I refuse to start letting media play us off against one another, it not right and that's not the kind relationship I have with my sister, we have a very close bond and that will remain so."

Last month it was reported Carl pulled the plug on his relationship with Katie amid allegations she had cheated on him.

A source told The Sun at the time: “Carl believes Katie went behind his back with another man. He lashed out in a series of texts and accused her of lying to him and using her pals to hide the phone number of the man he thinks she’s been seeing.

“He branded her ‘a cheat and a player’ and told her he has had enough. He feels he can no longer trust her and it’s the end of the road.”

The pair are now said to regret having each others’ faces tattooed on them in recent months and are reportedly taking steps to have the inkings either layered off or covered up.
