Katie Price says sharing children with their dads feels like they're 'taken away' from her

Katie Price has opened up about her feelings on co-parenting her children with ex-husbands Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler.

The former glamour model is mum to Harvey with Dwight Yorke, Junior and Princess with Peter Andre, 49, and Jett and Bunny with Kieran Hayler, 34.

But the 43-year-old has hit the headlines of late due to her rocky relationship with her children's father Peter Andre and his new wife Emily MacDonagh, 32.

Earlier this year, Katie took aim at Emily in a blistering social media attack, in which she labelled her “disgusting”.

She has now lifted the lid on co-parenting with her exes Peter and Kieran, in a new BBC documentary focused on her eldest son Harvey’s first term at his new £350,000-a-year residential college.

Reflecting on being apart from the 19-year-old, Katie said it emotionally feels as though he has been “taken away” and then went on to compare it to co-parenting with her four other children.

“Emotionally you think he's being taken away from you - like the other kids that I share with their dads,” she said. “But there's always just been me and Harv. So the emotional thing is like, ‘Oh my god, what am I going to do? Is Harvey going to think that I've just left him?’”

Katie’s son Harvey has been accepted into the residential college National Star in Cheltenham, which the pair were shown visiting during her BBC documentary Harvey & Me.

The 43-year-old star previously admitted she would struggle with him being three hours away, but that the college offers the opportunity to live more independently and gain more skills.

Harvey, 19, is on the autism spectrum and was born with the rare disorder septo-optic dysplasia. He has disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes an excessive appetite.

Due to his disabilities, Katie was nervous about the journey for him from home to college as he makes the transition to adulthood.

He has been funded to live full-time at the college for three years, though his placement will be reviewed annually by his local authority which then decides on whether to continue to fund his placement.

Elsewhere in the latest BBC documentary, Katie said: “For me, I’m proud of Harvey in so many ways.

“People have to remember I got told he wouldn’t walk, talk or do anything really and he does it all. He’s very challenging, as you know – he's on around 25 tablets a day and that’s just to keep him alive, keep him going and for his behaviour.

“So for him to go to college without me – because that’s all he knows – I'm really proud about how he has adjusted to me not being there.”

Katie Price : What Harvey Did Next airs Monday 7th March at 9pm on BBC One
