Katie Price has revealed in her latest documentary that she hasn't lived with her youngest children for seven months as she candidly discussed her recent mental health struggles. The former glamour model has opened up in a new Channel 4 programme due to next month (September).
Katie Price : Trauma and Me sees the mum-of-five say limited access she has to her youngest children Jett and Bunny is "the hardest thing I've had to deal with". Katie shares nine year old son Jett and eight year old daughter Bunny with ex-husband Kieran Hayler, 35.
However, in the documentary, Katie tells viewers the children haven't lived with her for seven months after she breached her restraining order against Kieran’s fiancée Michelle Penticost. In June, the 44-year-old avoided a prison sentence after admitting to breaching a restraining order by sending abusive messages to Ms Penticost.
The former glamour model, 44, was handed an 18-month community order at Lewes Crown Court on Friday (June 24), which orders her to carry out 170 hours of unpaid work.
Katie had been banned from contacting Ms Penticost directly or indirectly under the terms of a restraining order imposed in June 2019. She pleaded guilty in March and was warned that she faced going to jail.
"The hardest thing I’ve had to deal with in the recent months is having limited access to some of my kids," Katie says in her upcoming documentary, according to OK magazine. "Recent events have meant I’m seeing my youngest children less and the relationship between me and their father has broken down."
She adds: "It’s not good for my mental health and it’s certainly not good for their mental health. They should be having their mum in their life. At the moment I’m stuck in this rut with Jett and Bunny and it is frustrating for me. You know, seven months, how has it even got to this? It’s heartbreaking and I just wish it wasn’t like this. All I can do is hope that this won’t be forever."
Elsewhere in the documentary, Katie details how she attempted to take her own life. But says that her children - Jett and Bunny, as well as son Harvey, 20, and her children from her marriage to Peter Andre, Junior, 17, and Princess, 15 - kept her alive. "All I saw was the kids’ faces and I never want that to happen again," she says.
Katie has previously told how her 'kids saved her' as she attempted to take her own life before seeking help at the mental health hospital the Priory. The reality star has had a turbulent time in the last year. Katie, 45, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance after a crash near her home in Sussex.
In December she was handed a 16-week suspended sentence following the accident. In a BBC documentary aired in Mach, Katie's mum Amy revealed that she was told they didn't know how star survived drink-drive crash
Katie Price: Trauma And Me airs Thursday 8 September, 9pm, Channel 4.
