Katie Price plans to build special room in Mucky Mansion to remember terminally ill mum

Katie Price is reportedly planning to build a special room in her notorious Mucky Mansion to remember her terminally ill mum.

The 43-year-old is in the middle of renovating her Sussex home as part of a Channel 4 series, with preview clips showing herself and son Harvey getting stuck into the decorating work.

And it seems as though Katie is keen to create a special place to pay tribute to mum Amy, 63, who has idopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a life-limiting condition.

An insider told The Sun that Amy had got stuck into decorating the room with parrot print on the walls, palm trees and a lot of pink.

They said: "Everyone's calling it the 'royal room' - Amy's putting her own spin on the design and it'll be a special tribute room to Amy so Katie always has a memory of her in the house."

Last year, Katie opened up about her mum's condition on Steph's Packed Lunch, saying: "My mum's pretty strong, she's accepted it, but she's not one of these people who will dwell on it even though I know it's on your mind."

Her mum also addressed her condition, saying that she hasn't given up but added: "I've got the accept the fact that I know I'm going to deteriorate."

Katie went on to consult with a mindset coach, Will Murtha, telling him: "My mum is my absolute rock, my absolute best friend and to be told she's got an incurable breathing disease breaks my heart.

"Sadly, she hasn't got long left to live."

After their session, Katie felt more content and told the camera: "What I’ve learned from today is to spend as much time as I can with my mum. You’ve just got to take each day as it is, build as many memories, don’t have regrets and just be happy."

Amy was first diagnosed with IPF in 2017, when doctors warned her prognosis could be as little as two to five years.

The condition causes scarring inside the lungs, making it difficult to breath, and as yet there is no cure.

Katie has been coming to terms with her mum's condition for the last four years, and in part blames her past cocaine and booze binging on her grief.

"She puts on a massive show of strength but her illness is slowing her down," Katie told The Sunday Times Magazine recently.

"She has joined a choir to open up her lungs. She's not giving in without a fight.

"We've both got tough exteriors, neither of us show anyone what's going on inside. Because we know we're losing Mum, nothing goes unsaid. I know everything about her and she knows everything about me."
