Katie Price was devastated after her pet chihuahua went missing while she was on holiday, it has been reported.
The former glamour model, 44, had been enjoying a staycation in Dorset's 'millionaires' playground' Sandbanks with fiance Carl Woods and beloved dog Captain when the incident occurred.
It was her 11th holiday of the year after indulging in a sun-soaked getaway back in August with her three children, during which she shared photos of herself sipping on lemon cocktails.
But disaster struck on her latest trip away from home after her chihuahua ran off and she was unable to find him.
A source told The Sun that she was "in bits" and thought her dog would be fine off the lead but ended up running off while they were staying at a friend's.
"They couldn't find him anywhere and everyone was looking," they said. "Katie was devastated thinking she has lost him for good, or that he might get run over."
Thankfully, Katie found Captain eight hours later after a stranger found him "running around" and had taken him to the local vets.
"The vet then ID'd him using his digital tagging microchip, which was registered to the breeder," they said.
"The breeder then contacted Katie, who was thrilled and so relieved to be reunited with Captain."
The Mirror has reached out to Katie's reps for comment.
While Katie is a self-confessed animal lover, she hasn't had the best of luck with her pets and has even been the subject of a petition, with 20,000 calling for her to be banned from owning dogs.
In 2020, Katie's Alsatian, Sparkle, was hit by a car and killed after it escaped from her home and ran out onto the road.
That same year, a carer for Katie's eldest child, Harvey, found another family pet - a French Bulldog, Precious - dead after it had got stuck under an armchair.
Following Precious' death, a petition was launched by a concerned animal lover.
