Katie Price has vowed to seek weekly help from a therapist as she continues to rebuild her life following her horror car crash last year.
The 43-year-old mum-of-five avoided jail last year after she plead guilty to drink driving and driving without insurance and while banned.
She flipped her car when she drove under the influence near her home in West Sussex last September – and has since hinted that anxiety about her family life drove her to take such a huge risk.
Now Katie has confessed that she is trying to get even more help as she continues to rebuild her life following the high-profile incident – which left many angry that she wasn’t more severely punished by the courts.
Speaking to new! magazine, Katie explained regarding her accident: “There’s no one to blame for me getting in that car but myself. I’m lucky nothing happened but there are now consequences that I have to deal with.
“I’ve made a promise – I’ve never done that before – that I’m going to see a therapist once a week. I need to learn to cope when these situations happen because I don’t want to self-destruct.”
Katie was given a 16-week suspended sentence, with a condition of unpaid work, and a two-year driving ban when she was given her sentence last December following her guilty plea.
In an upcoming BBC documentary, titled Katie Price : What Harvey Did Next, the topless model hinted that her anxiety about her eldest child, 19-year-old son Harvey who suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, septo-optic dysplasia, autism and a learning disability, leaving home to go to college.
She said: "I’m used to 19 years of having him around me, living, breathing, smelling, the noise — everything. Then he’s just gone. How do I fill that void? I’m so used to having so much responsibility."
She continued in the special documentary which is due to air tonight: "There’s no one to blame for me getting in that car but myself.
“But if people could see, that night, what was going on in my head... I wasn’t telling myself not to get in the car. I just thought, 'I need to go'. So I’m lucky nothing happened."
Harvey is now attending the National Star College in Gloucestershire which is a specialist college for young people who have learning difficulties.
In her chat with new, Katie explains that Harvey is adjusting to his new life away from her.
She said: “He doesn’t feel like I’ve left him, no. He’s got to do these things to excel. Knowing he’s going to come back to me one day is a relief for me, though… Harvey lives like a king with me and I know that he’d always want me around.”
Katie – who has four other children, 16-year-old son Junior, 14-year-old daughter Princess, eight-year-old son Jett, and seven-year-old daughter Bunny – also opened up about her relationship with her oldest child.
She said: “With Harvey it’s unconditional love. It’s refreshing.”
