Katie Price has given fans a health update after getting her lungs checked amid her mother Amy’s lung disease.
The model, 46, had tests done after having concerns about Amy’s terminal lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Amy, 71, was diagnosed with IPF in 2017, with doctors saying she had a life expectancy of up to five years. She had a lung transplant in 2023.
IPF is a condition that causes scarring in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe.
Price, who previously revealed she has been vaping for a year, also wanted to see how her lungs were affected by the “horrible” and “addictive” habit.
“So I thought I'd give an update about yesterday when I went and had my lungs checked,” she said in a video on Snapchat on Thursday.
Price went on: “Obviously I had them checked because my mum had a lung transplant, and to see if it's genetic and to see if vaping has affected my lungs or anything like that.
“But my lungs are absolutely perfect, nothing wrong with them, and he gave me advice how to get off the vapes.”
“So I'm starting to wean myself off the vapes. But yeah it's all good news, they're all working well and they're really good lungs, especially for my age. So all good! I'm all healthy!”
The mother-of-five revealed last year that she was giving up the “disrespectful” habit of vaping due to her mother’s lung issues.
“I have a big confession to make, and if there's anyone out there who wants to join me, do it,” Price said on Instagram last summer.
“I've been vaping for a year, and it's no good for you - especially when my mum has had a lung transplant. It's disrespectful doing this in front of my mum.
“I've decided that today is the day I am throwing this battery, chemical, addictive, horrible thing away. I am now doing vapes no more from today.”
She added: “I've got the strength to get rid of them. Join me. It's going in the bin, that's it. I've cleared all of my vapes out of the car and everything.”
Earlier this month, Price revealed she was seduced into vaping despite having never smoked.
"My mum's had her lung transplant and she's never smoked. I've never smoked, I'm not a smoker. A year ago smelling all these [vapes] what people do and I got the taste [for them],” she said on Rob Moore’s podcast.
The former glamour model said a medical expert warned her about the risks of vaping during a virtual consultation.
"When he was on the phone to me... he said if anyone was going to start anything, smoking or vaping, even though he advises none, he said smoke not vape, he said these [vapes] are so bad for you,” she revealed.
