Katie Piper shared a candid hospital selfie after undergoing a successful operation for a skin graft over her right eye.
The 37-year-old was a victim of a horrific acid attack that left her blind in one eye in 2008 and has endured 400 surgeries to correct the damage.
Katie revealed she has been ‘resting and recovering’ after completing one part of her long-term treatment.
“Thank you to everyone for all of your lovely messages of support!” she captioned her latest post.
“They've helped me keep smiling throughout my surgery, and a big thanks to the incredible team at the hospital Here's to a lazy recovery weekend!”
In the selfies, Katie shared one snap where she showed fans how she looked right after the operation and another where she smiled at the camera.
On Tuesday, the presenter took to her Instagram stories to explain how she was having a planned skin graft operation on her right eye.
Speaking from her hospital bed, she said: “Morning lovely people, I have a very optimistic affirmation for you today. 30th March, what happened in the past is done with. It is the actions that you take next that will shape the rest of your life.
“I think that's a really exciting affirmation, knowing that there's so much more in front of you than there is behind you. I think sometimes the past is best left where it belongs.”
Katie continued: “Thank you for all the messages, I am fine. I'm having a planned operation on my eyelid. I'm having another skin graft to my right eye.”
The star has already undergone over 400 operations since the horrific attack.
At the time, Katie was left with burns to her face and blindness in one eye following the acid attack arranged by an ex-partner.
12 years on, Katie has maintained that her “heart never sinks” when she was told that she would need even more operations.
