Chris Hughes has been caught in a war of words with Katie Hopkins following his girlfriend Jesy Nelson's documentary Odd One Out.
In the program, which aired on BBC One last night, Jesy told her how her depression spiralled after seeing a mean tweet from former Apprentice star Katie.
Following an appearance on The X Factor in 2013, Jesy told how how she came off stage to read a tweet from Hopkins that read: "Packet Mix have still got a chubber in their ranks. Less Little Mix. More Pick n Mix."
As the candid documentary went to air, Chris sent a direct message to Katie via Twitter .

"B****" he called her followed by the middle finger emoji.
Chris later had second thoughts about his post and deleted it shortly after.
But Katie still caught wind of his comments and she wasn't pleased.

"Brilliant by Boyfriend of #OddOneOut #JesyNelson As the show aired on BBC One tonight, Chris tweeted Hopkins calling her a "b***h" and sending a middle finger emoji.
"Not the sharpest tool in the shed are we dear?" Katie scathed.
Despite taking down his message, Chris told her: "I wasn’t lying."

Refusing to back down, Katie fired: "No, my love. You are right. This is Twitter. And you were sharing your opinion to which you are perfectly entitled. Unlike others, I accept that if you put yourself out there, not all the comments you receive will be positive"
She then added: "I don’t give offence. You choose to take it. You need to make better choices. Own your issues. "

In her documentary, how Katie Hopkins' tweet about her weight led to a "pinnacle point" where she spiralled out of control and tried to end her life.
Jesy revealed she'd not eaten for a week before her X Factor return in 2013 and was horrified when she saw the mean tweet from Hopkins after the performance.
She said: "All I remember feeling at that time is what’s the f***ing point.
"I’ve starved myself for a week and I’m still getting called fat. I could be the skinniest girl in the world and this is never going to go away.
"That is the pinnacle point for me when I got severely depressed and it just spiralled out of control."

Jesy said ever since she found fame on the reality TV show it felt like 'everyone had an opinion on her' and 'none of them were good.'
In her tell-all documentary - that her mum begged her not to make - she described what it felt like to be known as 'the fat one from Little Mix' by bullies and appealed to people to be kinder on social media.
