There are a number of returning models for the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, including Katie Austin, who is back for another appearance after making her debut in 2022.
The daughter of renowned fitness instructor Denise Austin, Katie decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps after her Division I lacrosse career at USC. A certified fitness trainer, health coach, blogger, author, host and entrepreneur, Austin has garnered more than 1.8 million followers across social media platforms, including more than 380,000 on Instagram.
Katie operates a home workout and health app, the Katie Austin App, which provides users with over 250+ workout routines and over 100 easy and healthy recipes, and she also creates content for KatieAustin.TV.

Additionally, Austin featured in Create and Cultivate’s Top 100 Women in Digital List, as well as Seventeen Magazine’s Top 10 Fitness Instagrams to Follow.
Austin was previously the winner of SI Swim Search in 2021, before becoming the co-Rookie of the Year for her appearance in the 2022 issue alongside Christen Harper. In her previous appearances for SI, Austin has done photoshoots in both Atlantic City (2021) and Montenegro (2022).
For her 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photoshoot, the reigning Rookie of the Year took to the most buzzing travel destination in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic.
Austin was photographed by James Macari in Cap Cana, a gorgeous private community known for its white sand beaches and seaside cliffs, located in the Punta Cana region of the country.
