Katherine Ryan has announced she is pregnant with her third child.

The Canadian-Irish comedian, 39, admitted she learned she was expecting after trying for the first time while still breastfeeding her son Fred, who she welcomed just 13 months ago.

This will be her second child with civil partner Bobby Kootstra, 38. She also has 12-year-old daughter Violet, from a previous relationship.

She confirmed she is expecting during the latest episode of her Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything podcast.

She said: “I’m pregnant, I’ve been pregnant for a while and here’s how I did that. I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don’t think it’s going to work because I’m 39 - I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.

“And I thought, ‘We’ve got to get the kids out of the way’’. You never know how long you’re gonna have and I love my kids. I just thought, ‘well let’s go for it’.

While she said that she had been pregnant for “a while,” she has decided not to divulge her due date.

She explained: “You should never tell people your due date. If you never tell them, they can never start hassling you around that time.”

The TV personality recently admitted that she kept her second pregnancy a secret because she was scared it would lead to her losing work.

She was eight months pregnant when she presented ITV‘s Ready To Mingle, but hid the fact from everyone.

“I tried to keep it secret. People just thought I was really fat for ages. I had to keep it quiet. I still needed to work to feed my family.”
