In the upcoming final on Saturday, Siniakova and Townsend will face off against the second-seeded pair of Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski. Routliffe and Dabrowski advanced to the final by defeating the American duo of Caroline Dolehide and Desirae Krawczyk with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
Hsieh Su-Wei, a formidable force in Wimbledon doubles, has clinched four titles in the past, including the last three editions of the tournament. However, her quest for a fifth title was halted by Siniakova and Townsend's impressive performance.
Siniakova, a former Wimbledon doubles champion in 2022 and 2018 alongside Barbora Krejcikova, showcased her prowess on the court once again. She also claimed the French Open title earlier this year with Coco Gauff, adding to her impressive tally of eight major doubles titles.
Taylor Townsend, aiming for her first Grand Slam title, has previously finished as a runner-up at the US Open in 2022 and the French Open in the previous year.
Routliffe and Dabrowski, the reigning US Open doubles champions, are eager to secure their first Wimbledon trophy. Dabrowski, a seasoned player with ten Wimbledon appearances under her belt, was a finalist in 2019 alongside Xu Yifan.
