Kate is set for a trip to Denmark later this month
(Picture: Getty Images)The Duchess of Cambridge is set to carry out a rare solo visit to Denmark later this month, Kensington Palace has revealed.
Kate, 40, will conduct a two-day tour of Denmark on February 22 and 23 where she will pay tribute to the historic ties between Denmark and the UK.
The Duchess, who established The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021, will also visit a local project with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, 49, which works to protect vulnerable children and women.
In a tweet, Kate said: “Looking forward to learning from experts, parents & practitioners about Denmark’s approach to early childhood later this month.
“Denmark is a beacon of best practice in its approach to the early years, with a culture which prioritises the best start in life.”
Kate paid a touching tribute to the Nordic country with the Danish words “pa snarligt gensyn”.

This translates as “see you soon” in a touching personal touch from the Duchess of Cambridge.
During the visit, Kate will pay tribute to Queen Margrethe II, 81, who celebrates her Golden Jubilee this year - although celebrations have been scaled back until September.
Not only will the trip mark a rare solo appearance for the Duchess but it will also be the first time Kate has taken her initiative to the international stage.
Kensington Palace said: "During her visit, Her Royal Highness will spend time learning about how Denmark has created an enabling culture for early childhood development, specifically how it has promoted infant mental wellbeing alongside physical health, and how it harnesses the power of nature, relationships and playful learning in the first five years of life.
“Her programme will focus on innovative initiatives and projects which support children in their growth, particularly their social and emotional development, as well as their parents and wider communities surrounding them."
In its mission statement, Kate’s foundation aims to promote and commission high-quality research to increase knowledge and share best practice, work with people from across multiple sectors, and develop creative campaigns to raise awareness and inspire action.
This week Kate also became the patron of the English Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union.
The two patronages were given to Kate following Prince Harry’s departure from the Royal Family.
