Kate Moss has testified that Johnny Depp never pushed, kicked or threw her down any stairs.
The supermodel appeared via live video link from Gloucestershire as she gave evidence in support of her former boyfriend in his US defamation case against his former wife Amber Heard.
Depp's lawyers on Wednesday called Moss as a rebuttal witness after Heard had testified about a time she feared Depp would push her sister down a staircase.
Heard said she recalled "rumors" of Depp pushing Moss down a flight of stairs and she slapped Depp to stop him from harming her sister.
“I don’t hesitate and wait—I instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs,” Heard had told the court.
But Moss, who was in a relationship from 1994 to 1998 with Depp, rejected the claim when she gave evidence on Wednesday to Fairfax County District Court, saying she had slid down the stairs and injured her back during a vacation the couple took in Jamaica.
“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did. There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs. I hurt my back. And I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened,” she told the court as she addressed an incident at the GoldenEye resort.
She said Depp came running back to help her, “carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”
When asked by Depp’s lawyer Benjamin Chew if Depp ever pushed her down the stairs ever, she replied no.
“No, he never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” she said as she gave evidence wearing a black blazer and a spotted white shirt.
Mr Depp's legal team appeared to celebrate when her name was mentioned by Ms Heard during her evidence last week, as it meant they could call her to give evidence about the claim.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over a 2018 article she wrote in the Washington Post, which his lawyers say falsely implies he physically and sexually abused her while they were together. He has denied all accusations.
Heard is counterclaiming $100 million alleging Depp smeared her when his lawyer said her claims were a "hoax."
Over the past several weeks jurors have heard details of multiple instances of alleged abuse, with accusations of violence levelled at both Mr Depp and Ms Heard.
Ms Moss's evidence came in the final week of the trial, with closing arguments expected on Friday.
