Prince William and Kate Middleton gave royal fans at one street party a surprise of a lifetime when they "dropped in" unannounced before taking selfies with guests.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a "last minute change" to their plans and decided to surprise revellers at the Ladbroke Grove street party in London before heading to the Platinum pageant today (Sunday, June 5).
Today marked the fourth and final day of celebrations for the record-reigning monarch who has sat on the throne for an incredible 70 years.
Brits across the UK have marked the occasion in their home towns by throwing parties and local events.
But the heir and his wife wanted to "thank the community" with the surprise show before heading to the royal box at Buckingham Palace to watch the grand finale.
A palace source said: “They wanted to say thank you to the community for joining Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
“It was a last minute addition to their programme ahead of the Pageant this afternoon.”
Kate, wearing a blue polka dot frock and white court heels was pictured with her husband laughing and chatting with partygoers.
The couple posed for selfies appearing relaxed and happy as Kate sat down at the table clasping a hot drink, while Prince William crouched beside smiling children with an affection hand on their shoulders.
One woman wrote on Twitter : "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were seen at Kensington Memorial Park this morning, look like they’re at a street party."
Another replied: "Love how down to earth they are."
Kate later demonstrated her incredible mum-skills and patience with her own children as she was pictured laughing and managing a mischievous Prince Louis at the pageant today.
The youngest family member of the Cambridge family didn't hide his boredom and cheeky attitude from the cameras as he covered his face, yawned, stuck his fingers in his ears and tried to cover his mother's mouth as she disciplined him.
But the adorable snaps have provided many royal fans with laughs as the little Prince stole hearts and the show with his charming disobedience.
