Kate Middleton 'stressed and anxious' in new life after 'very difficult time', says expert

The Prince and Princess of Wales have endured a "very difficult time" with a "fair bit of stress and anxiety", a royal expert has claimed.

The royal couple has recently embarked on a new life with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. It has seen them up sticks from Kensington Palace in London to move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, with all three children starting a new school. Just days after the move, Prince William and Kate then had to come to terms with the late Queen's death, which saw them take on new roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

And according to royal expert and author Katie Nicholl, it hasn't been the settling-in period that they had hoped for.

Speaking on TalkTV's Royal Tea show, host Sarah Hewson said: "Katie, you said this week she has been under pressure, she has been stressed of late and that William and Kate have not had the settling-in period they might have been hoping for of their new life."

And Katie replied: "Absolutely. They've said that themselves... that this hasn't been the settling period that they had hoped for.

"Of course, they made that big move just after the summer holidays to move to Windsor.

"A significant and pretty bold move leaving Kensington Palace, enrolling the children in new schools, setting up a new life for themselves in Windsor.

"I think really so that they could be below the radar and have this normal family life which they are pretty successful in having.

"Of course, no one could have expected that the Queen would have died just at the start of all of that.

"Very, very difficult times. I think behind the scenes there is a fair bit of stress and anxiety for all of the family."

For the past week or so both William and Kate have largely remained under the radar without any public engagements.

That's because the trio are currently enjoying their half-term October holiday from the new school of Lambrook - near their new home in Windsor.

The trio broke up for the holidays almost two weeks ago and doesn't have to return to class at Lambrook until Monday, October 31.

And in the past, William and Kate have wound down their public appearances during holiday times in order to spend precious family time with their children.

In fact, it is believed during the October holidays last year that the family jetted off for an exciting holiday in Jordan.

And fans got a glimpse of the trip last year as a beautiful family photo taken in Jordan featured on William and Kate's Christmas card last year.
