Kate Middleton spotted buying last-minute Halloween costumes in Sainsbury's

It's the spookiest day of the year with kids around the world eager to dress up in the scariest costumes for Halloween. And it seems the Princess of Wales doesn't want her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis miss out on the fun just because of their royal status.

But while you might expect them to have the fanciest costumes in their classes, it turns out Kate is just like other parents when it comes to the last minute dash for a costume. A few years ago, she stunned Sainsbury's shoppers when she was spotted in her local supermarket with her two oldest children picking up Halloween outfits.

In 2019 the family popped into the Hardwick Industrial Estate branch in Norfolk and were overheard asking children in the store what they were going to dress up as.

George and Charlotte were with their mum and followed her around as she did her shopping.

She later used the self-service checkouts, where she purchased her Halloween goods.

Mum-of-four Kathy Whittaker later spoke of her shock to see Kate browsing the supermarket clothes while a brawny six-foot bodyguard lingered close by.

Kathy explained: "Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn't believe it.

"She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures.

"I managed to get the photo as she was at the self-service checkout.

"You just don't expect it to happen, you think Kate would shop in Waitrose or Harrods."

And it's not the first time Kate has been spotted in a Sainsbury's.

She was also seen browsing the clothing section of the supermarket's King's Lynn branch, which isn't far from the family's countryside home Anmer Hall, in 2020.

While in 2018, she was spotted perusing the aisles of discount store The Range in King’s Lynn.

However, if George, Charlotte and Louis are dressing up for Halloween, they may have to wait until later today.

That's because they were due back in class today at Lambrook School following their two-week half-term holiday.

For the past two weeks, Kate and husband Prince William have been under the radar with no public appearances as they spent precious time with their family.

In fact, it is believed during the October holidays last year that the family jetted off for an exciting holiday in Jordan.

And fans got a glimpse of the trip last year as a beautiful family photo taken in Jordan featured on William and Kate's Christmas card last year.
