Kate Middleton's daily diet - basic breakfast, insanely healthy lunch and dessert fave

After celebrating her 40th birthday earlier this year, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, looks as energetic as ever while carrying out her royal duties.

Since the death of Her Majesty The Queen last Thursday, Kate, along with other senior royals, have spent long days on the road meeting mourners at walkabouts all over Britain, including at the Sandringham Estate.

Meanwhile her children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis, only recently started their first term at the £7,000 a year Lambrook School in Berkshire.

During the summer, William and Kate kept their three young children busy, taking them to events all over Britain including the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and the Wimbledon final.

In order to remain upbeat, the stunning mum-of-three follows reportedly follows a strict diet to ensure she remains healthy and full of energy to look after her three children.

Breakfast

Similar to Meghan Markle, Kate is said to be a big fan of smoothies for breakfast.

The Princess of Wales blends a combination of kale, green tea leaves, spinach, romaine, cilantro and blueberries together for a healthy morning drink, reports MailOnline.

Kate also reportedly enjoys a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, which has many health benefits including weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease.

Lunch

Meanwhile for lunch, she is said to dine regularly on a juicy watermelon salad - which often consists of cucumber, avocado, onion and feta cheese, according to a 2014 Daily Mail article.

It's the perfect light lunch to enjoy at a picnic, or while sitting in the back garden enjoying a glass of wine.

Another one of her favourites is reportedly ceviche - a seafood dish originating in Peru which contains raw fish in citrus juices and is seasoned with chilli, onions, salt and coriander.

She is also said to be partial to a Tabbouleh salad, a Mediterranean staple made from soaked couscous, chopped parsley, tomatoes, mint, onion and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper.

Dinner

When it comes to dinners it sounds like the Cambridge family are quite traditional.

William's favourite dinner is roast chicken and Kate apparently makes a delicious curry, as well as soups.

Taking after their mother, George, Charlotte and Louis also enjoy helping out in the kitchen from time to time.

Like the rest of us, the former Duchess of Cambridge is partial to something sweet every now and then.

Royal chef Rody Warot previously told People : "Kate is always discreet and has always complimented the dishes with great kindness. For dessert, her favourite is sticky toffee pudding. It’s moist and spongy."

Her favourite place to enjoy the typical British delicacy is said to be the Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley, Berkshire - close to the Windsor Estate where they recently moved.

The dessert is perfect during the cold winters, and is a delightful way to end to a decadent three-course meal.

Given that Kate has to keep tabs on her three children, it's no wonder she finds herself reaching from some home comforts every now and then.
