Kate Middleton's concerned words as she introduced Prince Louis hours after giving birth

Prince Louis was just a few hours old when his proud parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introduced him to the world.

Like his older brother and sister, he was born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, in Paddington, West London.

And like them, he was cradled in mum Kate's arms as she showed him off to waiting photographers on the steps of the hospital almost four years ago.

But despite the delighted smiles on both her and dad Prince William's faces, it seems Kate was slightly concerned for her newborn.

During the photocall, a lip reader picked up the conversation between the couple as they waved for the cameras.

They mostly just exchange words about where they should look for photos and in which direction to wave, while William asks Kate: "Are you OK with him?"

But after several minutes of standing on the windy steps, Kate says to William: "It is a bit windy, eh? He might get cold. Let’s go now."

To which William replies: "Sure" and off they go.

Later as the royal couple prepared to drive away from the hospital with their newborn son, William joked about having his hands full.

The Duke held up three fingers to well-wishers, said “thrice worry now” and smiled warmly.

Later this month, Louis will be celebrating his fourth birthday and later this year will join Prince George and Princess Charlotte in attending school.

He has been growing up away from the spotlight. It's partly down to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has seen large-scale Royal Family events such as Trooping the Colour, cancelled in recent years.

And this has also played a part in causing him to fail to hit one major royal milestone - going on an overseas tour.

Louis has yet to go on a royal tour, which is mainly due to the travel restrictions that were in place for large parts of 2020 and 2021.

Louis' older siblings George and Charlotte were both considerably younger than their little brother when they went on their first overseas tour.

George went on his first royal tour when he was just nine months old, visiting Australia and New Zealand with his proud parents.

Charlotte made her royal tour debut in 2016 when she joined the family on a visit to Canada at 16 months.
