Royal fans were baffled Prince Louis disappeared from Westminster Abbey during the Coronation service.
During the first 45 mins, the five-year-old royal sat next to his sister Princess Charlotte, who he was seen chatting too, as well as his parents the Prince and Princess of Wales.
But he then disappeared - leaving people baffled and many asking where he had gone, before he reappeared for the National Anthem (where he got the words wrong).
Now Princess Kate's plan for the young royal has been revealed - and unsurprisingly, it was all planned in advance.
It was always the plan that Prince Louis would be excused during the lengthy ceremony, as it would have been a long time to sit still for the five-year-old.
During the first half of the ceremony, he could be seen fidgeting, as he pointed out something interesting to Princess Charlotte, before yawning as the excitement of the big day took its toll.
He lasted longer in his seat than planned during the slow-paced two-hour service, as he only a break after more than an hour.
Earlier, Louis arrived at Westminster Abbey in an outfit made by Dege and Skinner which consists of a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic with specially designed lace work embellishment to the collar, cuffs and fronts. The leg garment is black complete with Garter Blue stripe.
Once again, the five-year-old royal left people delighted as he displayed a series of exuberant expressions during King Charles' Coronation.
For many, his actions have been a refreshing reminder that even royal children are immune to the pomp and pageantry surrounding them.
On Twitter, one fan joked: "I’m only here for Prince Louis facial expressions."
Another added: "I wish the camera would show more of Prince Louis, his facial expressions make this family."
A third admitted: "I'm waiting for #PrinceLouis to do something silly."
"I am impressed by how well Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are behaving during this lengthy ceremony," admitted another.
