Kate Middleton lookalike goes viral on TikTok as fans say they look like sisters

A Kate Middleton lookalike has caused such a stir on social media for her uncanny resemblance to the royal she has now applied to play her in the next series of The Crown.

Brittany Dixon, from Australia, first created her TikTok account to promote her artwork.

But her followers soon noticed she looked just like the Duchess of Cambridge - and her fan base grew and grew.

Her uncanny resemblance to Kate provoked plenty of calls for her to audition for the part in the sixth series of the Netflix hit as they told would-be stars they are welcoming application from non-professional actors.

In one of her TikTok videos, Brittany explained the application process and told her followers she wants the part.

She was asked to send a selfie to casting bosses, some personal information about herself as well as a 30-second video.

The artist announced in a video viewed by 300,000 people: "Guys I applied! I was not expecting that video to get that much attention.

"So I did end up applying, they just wanted a selfie, some general information, and a 30 second video of me talking about something I love.

"Obviously I talked about painting, so we'll see how it goes and if they even see it. Anyway thanks guys for being so nice, back to painting."

A casting call notice from Netflix last month said they were hunting for young actors to play Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate with filming due to start in August.

The streaming giant specified that no previous professional acting experience was required.

She was told the resemblance is uncanny - and many want to see her on our screens in the years ahead.

One told her: "Wow, you are very, very similar. Now I know why you've always looked familiar."

Another wrote: "We need to see you on the Crown nobody else comes close to Kate."

A third said: "That's so funny, you look like sisters."

The role of Kate in The Crown is expected to be a minor one, depicting the beginning of her romance with Prince William during their time together in Scotland.
