Kate Middleton is Prince Harry's last hope of healing royal family rift, says expert

The Duchess of Cambridge is Prince Harry's last hope of healing his rift with the rest of the Royal Family, an expert has said.

Harry is set to release a tell-all memoir of his life later this year, which is said to have sparked a "tsunami of fear" in royal circles.

There has been much speculation about what he will include in the book and how members of the Royal Family will be portrayed in it.

It has been speculated he could take aim at his dad Prince Charles, stepmother the Duchess of Cornwall or his brother Prince William.

However, several experts have said that Kate could be spared of any criticism in the upcoming book.

And according to royal expert and author Duncan Larcombe, this could be because she could help Harry get his relationship with the royals back on track.

He told Closer magazine: "Leaving Kate from the memoir is a sign that she could be Harry’s last hope of healing the family rift. This will show that Kate is just a bridge that Harry won’t burn.

“It would be very sad if Harry were to turn on the person who not that long ago he described as ‘the sister he never had’. He and Kate had a deep bond.

“Kate is also nurturing and she and William had children before Harry so ‘Uncle Harry’ was very much part of the family in those early years. There was absolutely nothing to suggest there were any underlying resentments or difficulties.

"William and Harry didn’t agree on everything but in Kate, Harry had someone who he could really open his heart to, share dilemmas with and ask for advice.”

Last week, Harry and wife Meghan Markle made a secret visit to the UK on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

They met with the Queen and Prince Charles during their short stopover - but did not see William or Kate.

Much has been made of the rift between the two brothers with their frosty relationship, reportedly sparked by William's concerns over Harry's fast-developing relationship with Meghan ahead of their royal wedding in 2018.

The tense row quickly boiled over - with Harry claiming his brother was "trapped" within the royal system during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey after quitting as a senior royal.

And royal expert Robert Jobson says that it is "significant" that his brother and sister-in-law were not involved in the meeting.

He told the Mirror: "Significantly, Prince William and Catherine were not involved in these ‘clear the air’ chats.

"Hopefully, in time the royal brothers too can break bread and end this new war of the Wales’s, which is in danger of turning into one of the fictional soap style dramas Meghan used to star in.

"For William to do that, however, Harry will have to show that he (and his team of PR image gurus and advisers) can keep their counsel at this early and delicate stage.

"If not, this promising development would all have been for nothing."
