While members of the Royal family rushed to Balmoral after doctors were said to be "concerned" about the Queen's health, the newly appointed Princess was said to have 'changed' Meghan Markle's mind about travelling with the Duke on the day she passed.

According to the Mirror, Kate Middleton stayed at home so she could pick up Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Louis from their first full day at the Lambrook School in Berkshire. However whilst initial reports suggested the Duchess would be travelling with her husband, this was later confirmed to be false with Meghan staying in London like Kate.

Omid Scobie, the author of the biography Finding Freedom - which is about Harry and Meghan - tweeted that her plans had changed. Originally Meghan's plan to head to Scotland with the Duke of Sussex 'raised eyebrows' among certain royals, according to reports.

Charles sent the pair 'love' as they continue to build their life in the USA.

In the same speech, he bestowed the titles of 'Prince and Princess of Wales' upon William and Kate, while paying tribute to his 'darling mama' for a lifetime of dedicated service during her incredible 70-year reign.
