The Princess of Wales has tried her hand at making pancakes during a visit to a care home - but was forced to apologise after it went horribly wrong.
Kate visited the Oxford House Nursing Home in Slough today, where she learned about how it is caring for its elderly residents.
For the visit, which coincided with Shrove Tuesday, the princess wore smart navy trousers and a polo neck jumper, teaming it with a Max Mara camel coat.
And given the day she visited the home, she took part in a pancake making challenge alongside two cooks including head chef Anna Wright.
However, her efforts at whipping up a pancake went somewhat awry and she giggled as she struggled to even flip the pancake in the air.
After prodding the mixture with a spatula, she eventually managed to free some of the pancake and managed to flip it over.
And she said: "Definitely don't eat that pancake. All of the ones that were made earlier are much nicer."
Turning to one of the cooks, she added: "Sorry, I really haven't done you justice" before labelling her creation a "congealed blob".
Based in Slough, the nursing home looks after up to 34 residents. It also operates a domiciliary care organisation, Oxford House Community Care, which provides support to enable local residents to live independently in their own homes.
During her visit Kate heard about Oxford House’s use of technology to stimulate and enrich the daily lives of residents.
She tried out an interactive football table with one resident called Jean and also chatted to 109-year-old Nora, who told Kate her favourite food is kidney with Brussel sprouts.
She also visited the home's award-winning garden and talked to residents next to an interactive wall, which has a screen showing a train journey.
The visit to the nursing home just days after she and Prince William wowed the crowds on the red carpet as they attended the 2023 BAFTAs on Sunday night.
She donned a Grecian-style gown by Alexander McQueen, which she first wore to the BAFTAs in 2019 - and paired it with dramatic black opera-style gloves.
While on the red carpet, Kate was spotted cheekily giving William a pat on his bottom in what appeared to be a rare display of PDA.
During the ceremony, a pre-recorded tribute to the late Queen was paid by Dame Helen Mirren, who played the late monarch in the 2006 biopic The Queen.
William and Kate watched from the centre of the front row as Dame Helen said: "Cinema at its best does what Her Majesty did effortlessly – bring us together and unite us through a story. Your Majesty, you were our nation’s leading star."
