Kate Middleton 'could be friendlier' to Meghan, Prince Harry told Prince William

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle's relationship has always been a subject of interest, and a bombshell new book claims that Prince Harry had to have a difficult conversation with Prince William regarding his wife's treatment of his sister-in-law. Since its release a few weeks ago, Tom Bower's book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors' has brought to light some shocking claims about Meghan and Harry's relationship with other members of the Royal Family.

Bower claims in his latest release that the relationship between Meghan and Kate has not always run smoothly. Although both women have a lot in common, given the fact they are married to members of The Firm, they never seemed to click, The Mirror reports.

In last year's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex accused the Duchess of Cambridge of reducing her to tears over bridesmaids' dresses ahead of her wedding to Harry. Over the years, there have been countless reports suggesting tension between Meghan and Kate, with one insider claiming that the Duchesses are 'very different'.

As Meghan and Harry prepared to perform royal duties in Australia, Bower claims that William and Harry had a frank conversation in which the younger brother suggested that Kate should be 'friendlier' to his wife. Bower wrote: "Members of their family, said Harry, were not showing her sufficient support, respect and friendship.

"Meghan, Harry believed, should be just as appreciated as their mother. William’s reply was not sympathetic. Beyond the palaces, few were aware of the split between the brothers."

The Duchesses are said to have clashed over Princess Charlotte's dress for Meghan and Harry's wedding (PA)

During their tell-all Oprah interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a number of allegations about The Firm, dating back to when they were still working members. Before the interview, there had been reports which suggested that Meghan made Kate cry during a bridesmaid dress fitting.

But Meghan claimed during her personal chat with Oprah that Kate made Meghan cry, not the other way around. In his sensational new book, Bower includes details about the drama and how detrimental it was to the bond between the two duchesses.

According to Bower, Meghan and Kate fell out over the way Princess Charlotte's dress fit, and whether she should wear tights. In Andrew Morton's book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, the author previously claimed that Kate didn't have 'much energy' to bond with Meghan in the lead-up to the wedding as she was going through a difficult pregnancy with Louis.

Meghan said she has now forgiven Kate, adding that she's a "good person" and that Kate sent her flowers to apologise for the incident. Although, she gave no details on what sparked the incident, and it is still not known for certain.
