Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, announced she has completed chemotherapy treatment in a video posted on X.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Middleton says in the video, reading from the text—“A message from Catherine, The Princess of Wales”—that is also posted. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.

The three-minute, six-second video features her husband, William, Prince of Wales, and their three children hiking through the forest, walking on the beach, picnicking, and playing cards. Throughout are images of the royal couple holding onto each other tightly.
“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted,” Middleton says. “Of simply loving and being loved.”
She does not share specifics of her diagnosis or treatment, instead focusing on how her experience has brought new perspective.
Back in March, Middleton announced, in a separate video, that she hd been diagnosed with an unspecified cancer. It came after public speculation swirled about her well-being following an abdominal surgery.

Middleton says her focus now is staying cancer-free, but that she looks forward to returning to work and speaking engagements in her own time.
“My path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” Middleton says. “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time.”
Middleton ends the video by expressing with sympathy for others navigating the difficulties of cancer, saying, “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey—I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
