Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle 'bound' by same dress code for the Queen's funeral

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle with both wear the same accessory for the Queen's funeral on Monday, in line with a Royal tradition which has spanned decades.

Both Kate, the new Princess of Wales and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have made numerous public appearances in the week since Her Majesty's passing, with the pair surprising those gathered at Windsor Castle on Saturday, as they joined husbands Prince William and Prince Harry for a walkabout and to look at floral tributes left in honour of Queen Elizabeth.

Both women were also in attendance at Westminster Hall on Wednesday after the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex walked alongside other members of the Royal Family as the Queen's coffin made the short but poignant journey from Buckingham Palace to the Hall, where it is now lying in state for members of the public to file past and pay their respects.

Both women will be at the Queen's funeral service at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19, likely to follow the funeral procession in cars, along with the likes of Sophie, Countess of Wessex, as William and Harry once again walk behind their late grandmother's coffin. And both Meghan and Kate, as well as being dressed in black, will each wear a black veil.

The mourning veils have been part of the Royal Family's tradition for years and years and are worn not only as a symbol of grief, but also offer the wearer more privacy.
