Kate Middleton admits struggle with Princess Charlotte after failing to master skill

The Princess of Wales certainly had her work cut out for her on Christmas morning when the royals were out in force.

Both she and Prince William had to tear Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis away from their new Christmas presents to get them dressed and ready for church.

And all three children looked immaculately turned out as they joined all of the other royals for the traditional walk through Sandringham to the service.

But it seems Kate might have struggled when it came to helping Charlotte get ready - and it's all down to her hair.

During a visit to Cumbria in June 2019, Kate revealed that she struggles with styling Charlotte's beautiful hair.

A young girl who met the Princess of Wales on her visit offered her a bouquet of flowers and was met with a sweet compliment from Kate.

She told her: "I love your plaits. They are so pretty. Who's done those, who's done your plaits?"

Then Kate made a sweet revelation, which many parents of young girls will relate to.

She admitted: "I tried to do a plait with Charlotte this morning, it didn't really work very well."

Meanwhile, it's not just Kate who has spoken of the struggle of styling Charlotte's hair - her dad William has too.

On a trip to Blackpool in 2019, he was chatting to a fellow dad, who admitted that he'd had difficulty learning how to do his daughter's hair.

"Never try to do a ponytail! Nightmare.” he agreed, People reports.

This year marks the royals' first Christmas without the late Queen and the first of King Charles' reign.

This year's royal Christmas featured a morning trip to St Mary Magdalene Church, the greeting of well-wishers, and a family lunch with turkey and all the trimmings.

Charles also pre-recorded his historic, first-ever Christmas Broadcast as monarch, where he reflected on the loss of his mother and her legacy.

Traditionally, members of the royal family sit down to watch the televised address when it airs after lunch at 3pm on December 25.

Sandringham House has been the private home of four generations of British monarchs for more than 160 years, and now belongs to the King.

The late Queen celebrated the eve of her Platinum Jubilee there just seven months before her death.

It was bought in 1862 by the then Prince of Wales, who later became Edward VII, as a private country retreat.

The house was rebuilt in 1870 to ensure it was big enough for his growing family.
