Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper is back in intensive care "fighting for his life". The former political advisor has been suffering the after-effects of Covid since contracting the infection early in the pandemic.
He still has numerous heath problems including issues with communicating and mobility problems. Earlier this week, Good Morning Britain host Kate pulled out of the show this week after her husband became "seriously unwell".
On Sunday, Kate posted a message on social media thanking fans for their messages of support.

She said: "Thank you so, so much for all your messages of support - they really do mean the world. I’ve been off as Derek’s health took an unexpected & frightening turn for the worse that landed him back in intensive care & fighting for his life - again."
Derek remains the worst affected living Covid patient in the country. He spent more than a year in hospital before returning home but continued to struggle with major health problems.
Ever since her husband contracted Covid, Kate has tried to balance her work and family commitments - including looking after their two children Darcey, 16, and Billy, 12. She has also become a full-time carer to Derek, but said recently that she's tried to remain positive.
She added that she will be returning to host GMB on Monday morning from 6am as her husband was "back on the right" side of his treatment, thanking the NHS teams and Derek's "own amazing life force and spirit".
Adding that she was looking forward to "see you all back" and hoping to be celebrating an England win for the Lionesses.
