Journalist Kate Garraway appeared on Lorraine on Tuesday morning - ahead of her ITV new documentary.
The heartfelt show features her husband Derek Drapers battle with Covid and how she cares for him during his road to recovery.
Speaking on the show this morning, Kate dismissed host Lorraine Kelly's awe in all she does for Derek, stating that it's just basic instinct to care for your loved ones.

The 54-year-old said: "Well I don’t know if it is remarkable, but it was sweet of you to say that. I think it’s what everyone does for their loved ones.
"There are more than seven million people in the UK that care for a loved one, not professionally or paid, but just because they need to.
“I'd say that’s kind of an underestimate as well, because most unpaid carers do not register themselves as such, I mean I haven’t even registered myself!
“So there’s a lot of people in the same situation as me.”
The morning programme featured exclusive clips from the documentary - including the sheer loads of laundry Kate does everyday for Derek, and the moment Derek hugged his son Billy for the first time since his diagnosis.
Kate continued: "That laundry moment, I feel is quite belittling and just moaning about something silly, because we all have to do laundry, but I think that it is a very visual way of showing ‘ yes, of course, I do the laundry’.
"However, Derek needs his bedding washed up to seven times a day, including the mattress in order to avoid pressure sores.
“I think that’s the kind of thing you don’t think about or don’t begrudge doing at all, but everything is like that.
“The biggest challenge is the emotional challenge, as I think many carers same as me would agree with, the emotional challenge of adjusting to what is my future or non-future going to look like.
"You don’t mind doing all the laundry, as long as you know that the person you care about is going to be there at the end of the day.
"You question everything - am i giving the right care? Have we found out about the right things that would help? All of that comes into play.
"It can be difficult navigating your way through the labyrinth of well-meaning people within the social care system."
Kate told Lorraine about how emotional she was when Derek got home to his family for the first time since he was diagnosed with Covid-19 back in April 2020.
She added: "It’s really hard, and I did think long and hard about doing another documentary, even though you do see the moment Derek comes home which I still find very moving - you see him move his arm for the first time to hug Billy.
"He hadn't done that for a very long time - it was a really significant moment.
“I didn’t want it to become a pity party for me, I wanted to have a story to tell and a voice to give to others also going through something similar.”
You can watch Kate's documentary, 'Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek', tonight at 9pm on ITV.
