TV presenter Kate Garraway appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning to give viewers a glimpse into her new documentary surrounding husband Derek Draper's long battle with coronavirus.
Former Labour Party adviser Derek contracted Covid in April 2020, and entered a coma weeks later - and has been in multiple medically-induced ones since, in his recovery battle with the virus.
Speaking on the morning programme, Kate said: "I’m very protective of people seeing him vulnerable, but this is the reality of life for people who are carers."
"The person he is now, in many ways, is a stranger. If we can have a love and he can be a dad to the children in a whole new way, that’s life isn’t it?"
"I don’t think things will ever be the same again, because I don’t think we as a family and he as a human being could go through something like that and not be impacted by it.
"Months in a coma and then this. It’s going to change him, even if it’s only emotionally. We’ve all been through so much. I’m not the same."

She added: "Obviously, he still has extraordinary problems with communication, mobility is very limited, massive problems with fatigue.
"It's kind of hard to get your head around really. But we have still got fears. And still hugely grateful for everyone that kept him alive and saved his life thus far."
Kate has been keeping the nation updated on Derek's heartbreaking battle with Covid ever since he was first rushed to hospital in early 2020.
Her first documentary Finding Derek won various awards, and the pair share two kids together: Darcey and Billy.
